Chrysler once again stumped competitors in 2007 with the release of the next generation Chrysler Sebring Cabrio. Chrysler Sebring coupe and convertible versions began to be produced back in 1994. They have always symbolized swiftness and luxury, but it was with the 2007 update that the Chrysler concern surprised everyone, because the competitors simply do not have a convertible in the D class, offering a choice of a soft or hard folding roof.
This made it possible to position sales depending on climatic conditions. In addition, for different regions, Americans and offer different suspension settings and engines, gasoline, diesel and bioethanol.
In terms of dimensions, the Chrysler Sebring convertible version is several centimeters longer than the sedan, and in terms of the exterior design it looks more like another convertible of the company - Crossfire. And although this operation cannot be carried out on the go, the good news is that from 356 liters of luggage volume there are almost two hundred, which is more than other convertibles and allows you to fit a couple of golf bags without straining.
Thanks to the elongated body, the interior of the Chrysler Sebring Cabrio at first glance does not differ much from the sedan. Only after sitting on the back sofa, there is a noticeable lack of free space in the cabin. It is understandable that the rear sofa in a modern convertible is more a tribute to fashion than a functional and comfortable seat. The seats of the driver and front passenger have a lot of electric adjustments and integrated seat belts, but they do not differ in a comfortable fit. The low roof and the lack of lateral support are to blame for this. Although the models with a hard top have a wind deflector and a powerful heater, which allows you to move with the roof folded when the windows are raised. The layout, appearance and hard plastic dashboard one-to-one resembles a sedan. The same three wells with white dials and aluminum-like plastic. The upholstery of the seats can be made in Yes Essentials fabric, but in our market there are only rich configurations with leather interior. And if outwardly expensive equipment differs only in 18-inch alloy wheels and a hard folding roof, then there are more changes inside. In the presence of automatic climate control, a steering wheel with inserts of a tortoiseshell, and a multimedia system "Boston Acoustics" with a 20 GB hard drive and a voice recorder hidden in the sun visor. But the size of 18-inch disks does not allow to place even a stowaway in the trunk, therefore only a repair kit is available.
For the European market, American engineers redesigned the chassis, making the Chrysler Sebring's suspension more assembled and stiffer, preventing the car from swaying. But the steering is far from sporty sharpness and precision.
In terms of technical characteristics, the Chrysler Sebring offers various gasoline engines with a volume of 2.4 to 3.5 liters as a power unit for different countries. At the same time, the 2.7-liter V6 FFV modification runs on E85 bioethanol. And for the European consumer, a fairly economical two-liter diesel with a capacity of 140 horsepower is presented, which is aggregated by a six-speed manual transmission. We have presented one version with a six-speed "automatic" and a 2.7-liter V-six petrol engine with a capacity of only 186 hp. It is difficult to achieve good acceleration dynamics from such a low-boost motor, but it must have an amazing resource.
