At the International Auto Show in Seoul, which was organized in January 2011, the official debut of the Korean sedan Hyundai Grandeur 5th incarnation with the factory index "HG" took place, which has become much more perfect than its predecessor, not only visually, but also in technical terms.

At the end of the spring of 2014, a restyled three-volume box appeared to the public at the bridegroom in Busan - the exterior and interior were refreshed, new engines were separated and the list of available equipment was expanded.

The "fifth" Hyundai Grandeur is clearly a success for the Korean designers - the elegant and stylish silhouette of the body, painted with "flowing lines", the gusset with large wheels and trapezoidal sockets of the exhaust system create the image of a truly solid car. Do not spoil the impression and the beautiful front end with slanted headlights and a chrome grille, and the monumental stern, decorated with united wide red stripe lanterns and a powerful bumper.

The overall dimensions of "Grander" refer it to the E-category according to European standards: in length, width and height, the car is 4910 mm, 1860 mm and 1480 mm, respectively. The sedan has a wheelbase of 2845 mm, and the ground clearance is 151 mm.

The interior of Hyundai Grandeur of the fifth incarnation is modern, alluring and comfortable - flexible contours of the front panel create the feeling of outstretched wings. A beautiful and understandable "toolbox", a fashionable "steering wheel" with a four-spoke design, an exquisite center console with a large multimedia center screen and a scattering of radio and climate system buttons - inside the "Korean" and there is nothing to blame. The “apartments” of the car delight not only with their shapes, but also with modern finishing materials and mature ergonomics.

Front seats "Grander" with wide intervals of electrical adjustments are conveniently profiled, but endowed with poorly developed lateral support rollers. The second row can easily accommodate three adult passengers, but the shape of the sofa clearly indicates that only two will be accommodated here with maximum comfort.

The volume of the trunk by the standards of the class of the Korean sedan does not shine with records - 461 liters in the "stowed" form. However, the compartment itself is distinguished by a well-thought-out configuration and high-quality finishing, and a full-fledged spare wheel is based in its underground. The back of the "gallery" hides in the floor in two unequal parts, opening an opening for the transportation of long items.

Specifications. On the Russian expanses, the "fifth" Hyundai Grandeur meets with two gasoline engines, supplying full traction to the wheels of the front axle by means of a 6-speed "automatic":

  • "Younger" versions are equipped with a four-cylinder "aspirated" Theta II GDI with a volume of 2.4 liters with distributed injection and a 16-valve configuration, which generates 180 "mares" at 6000 rpm and 231 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. Even with such a "heart", the car demonstrates decent performance: the ceiling of its capabilities falls at 210 km / h, the starting "throw" up to 100 km / h is within 9.8 seconds, and the "consumption" of fuel does not exceed 9.3 liters in the combined cycle.
  • The "older" versions are based on an all-aluminum six-cylinder Lambda II GDI unit of 3.0 liters with a V-shaped structure, multi-point "power supply and 24 valves, which develops 250" horses "at 6400 rpm and 284 Nm of peak thrust at 5000 rpm ... In such a sedan, the speedometer needle crosses over a three-digit number after 8.4 seconds, and rests at 223 km / h. In the highway / city cycle, it consumes 9.6 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

In other countries, the three-volume is offered with other motors. A diesel 2.2-liter "four" is also available for it, showing 202 "horses" and 441 Nm of rotating potential, a gasoline "aspirated" 2.4 GDI with direct injection, which produces 190 "stallions" and 241 Nm, and a 3.3-liter 294-horsepower V6 producing 345 Nm.

The fifth "release" Hyundai Grandeur is built on the front-wheel drive platform of the Hyundai-Kia concern called "Y6" with a steel body and a transversely placed power unit. At the front, the car has an independent configuration with MacPherson struts, and at the rear it is a multi-link design (gas shock absorbers, coil springs and lateral stabilizers are present on both axles). The rack-and-pinion steering mechanism on the four-door works alongside the MDPS electric power-assisted steering. On the front wheels of the sedan, ventilated 320-mm discs of the brake system are used, and on the rear wheels - the usual "pancakes" with a diameter of 285 mm (the "base" includes ABS, EBD and other electronics).

Options and prices. Official sales of the "fifth Grander" in Russia were stopped in 2015 due to low consumer demand, and in the secondary market at the end of 2016, a car can be purchased at a price of 900 thousand rubles.
The standard functionality of the sedan includes eight airbags, Infiniti "music" with 12 speakers, leather interior trim, bi-xenon headlights, engine start from a button, ABS, ESP, a multimedia installation with a rear-view camera and a navigator, "cruise", parking sensors, 17-inch "rollers" and a bunch of other useful equipment.
