In mid-November 2016, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant held an official presentation of the updated "truck" UAZ Pickup, which underwent the same set of improvements as the original "Patriot" - it slightly improved its appearance, removed the diesel unit from the power range, made the interior much more modern, expanded the functionality and separated a few technical tweaks.
In October 2018, the compact pickup again underwent metamorphosis, and again in the same vein with the basic "brother" - it received pinpoint improvements to the exterior and interior, but at the same time significantly changed in technical terms: a new 150-horsepower engine; upgraded gearbox; recalibrated shock absorbers; improved steering gear and front axle.
All visual improvements (which happened at the end of 2016) fell on the front of the "Pickup" - a radiator grill "surrounded" with chrome stripes was hung on the front of the car with a large emblem of the brand and fine-mesh ornaments, thanks to which it began to look a little more modern and prettier, but with this has not lost its brutality.
From other angles, the "truck" has not changed much.
The length of the UAZ Pickup 2019 model year is 5125 mm, its width is 1915 mm (2110 mm including mirrors), and its height does not exceed 1915 mm (1975 mm with a kung). A 3000 mm gap fits between the axles of the car, and the ground clearance reaches 210 mm.
The modernization, carried out in the fall of 2016, significantly "rejuvenated" the interior of the "Pickup" - inside the four-door demonstrates an attractive and neat design, but cannot boast of high quality materials (though in expensive versions the seats are dressed in leather).
The appearance of the decoration of the Russian "truck" is not inferior to other foreign cars - a multifunctional steering wheel with three spokes, a laconic "board" of instruments with white-moonlight illumination, and a stylish console in the center of the front panel with a "TV" of a multimedia system with a diameter of 7 inches and climate control " remote control ".
The cargo-and-passenger capabilities of the pickup remained at the "pre-reform level": the car is capable of taking on board up to five adults and 725 kg of luggage.
The UAZ side platform is 1375 mm long, 1500 mm wide and 640 mm high, and its volume to the side cover is 1181 liters (2243 liters with a box).
For UAZ Pickup 2019 model year, two four-cylinder gasoline "aspirated" with a working volume of 2.7 liters are offered with a distributed fuel injection system and a 16-valve timing:
- "Junior" unit ZMZ-40906 generates 135 horsepower at 4600 rpm and 217 Nm of torque at 3900 rpm;
- "Senior" ZMZ-409051 - 150 hp at 5000 rpm and 235 Nm of torque at 2650 rpm.
By default, a 5-speed "mechanics" and an all-wheel drive transmission of the Part-Time type with a rigidly started front axle, a mechanical "transfer case" (on the "top" versions - electronically controlled) and an optional rear differential with a lock are docked with the engines.
After the updates, the road and off-road characteristics of the car did not undergo any significant changes: the maximum "truck" accelerates to 150 km / h, on average "destroying" 13-13.3 liters of fuel in mixed mode, and can overcome fords up to 500 mm deep.
Structurally, after the modernization of 2016, the "Pickup" has changed insignificantly: it received a single 68-liter fuel tank, a telescopic steering rack that folds on impact, and more rigid front pillars and a floor.
The 2018 update celebrated more technical changes: the car was separated from improved steering with a damper and a stiffer trapezoid, installed a front axle with open steering knuckles and changed the angle of the pivots, and also re-tuned the shock absorbers "in a circle".
Otherwise, "everything is the same": a powerful frame at the base with dependent suspension of both axles (front - spring, rear - spring), steering gear-rack type with hydraulic booster, disc front and drum rear brakes with ABS, BA and EBD ...
In the Russian market, UAZ Pickup 2019 model year can be purchased in five trim levels to choose from - Classic Fleet, Classic, Optimum, Prestige and Maximum.
A pickup in the basic version is offered at a price of 764,000 rubles, and for this money you get only a 135-horsepower engine and an old front axle. Nominally, the car has: one airbag, ABS, EBD, power steering, four power windows, heated and powered outside mirrors, central locking, LED running lights, audio preparation and some other equipment.
The new 150-horsepower engine and other technical improvements are available from the "Classic" version, estimated at 784,000 rubles, while the "top modification" costs at least 1,130,000 rubles.
