In 2001, the official premiere of the ninth generation Toyota Corolla (the so-called "body index" E120) took place at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Compared to its predecessor, the car has received a completely new design and has become more technological.

In 2002, the Corolla was slightly updated. The car of this generation has become one of the most popular cars ever produced by Toyota.

Toyota Corolla of the ninth generation is the representative of the "C" class, which was offered in sedan, hatchback, three- and five-door hatchback bodies.

The length of the car is from 4180 to 4529 mm, the width is from 1699 to 1710 mm, the height is from 1466 to 1500 mm, the wheelbase is 2600 mm, the ground clearance is from 150 to 160 mm. The curb weight of the Corolla varies from 1010 to 1405 kg, depending on the modification.

The ninth generation Toyota Corolla family was available in Russia with petrol engines with a working volume of 1.4 - 1.8 liters, producing from 87 to 190 horsepower, and diesel engines 2.0 - 2.2 liters with a return from 79 to 110 "horses". The units worked in conjunction with a 5-speed manual or 4-band automatic transmission, front or all-wheel drive. Front and rear suspension - independent, spring. Ventilated disc brakes are installed at the front, disc brakes at the rear.

The ninth generation Toyota Corolla can often be found on the roads, so all the advantages and disadvantages of the model are known. On the positive side, we can note the high build quality, overall reliability, high-quality and non-creaky plastic in the cabin, affordable spare parts, inexpensive service, good dynamics, excellent handling, stable behavior on the road, comfortable and roomy interior, well-thought-out ergonomics and decent equipment.
Well, among the negative points are a small ground clearance, not very good sound insulation, poor visibility, and also not clear operation of the automatic transmission.
