At the beginning of September 2016, the French company Peugeot held a presentation of the new crossover 5008 of the second generation, simultaneously presenting its "heated" version with the designation "GT", which received "sporty" exterior and interior decoration, a powerful turbodiesel engine and a "rich" functional. "Live" this five-door was presented to the general public as part of an international show in Paris, and became available to European buyers in the spring of 2017.

It is not so difficult to recognize the Peugeot 5008 GT in city traffic: the SUV is distinguished by headlights with flowing vertical "ribs", a different pattern of the radiator grille, slightly more "embossed" wheel arches, 19-inch "rollers" of the original design and chrome tailpipes.

It is worth noting that the optional GT Line package gives the car almost the same visual “special effects”.

The crossover in the GT version copies the "civilian brother" in terms of dimensions: its length, width and height are respectively 4641 mm, 1844 mm and 1646 mm. The wheelsets of the "5008" are 2840 mm apart from each other, and the "belly" and the roadbed accommodate 236 mm of ground clearance.

Inside, the Peugeot 5008 GT presents riders with an impressive design, carefully selected materials and a high level of performance, and they are supported by a sports steering wheel with the GT marking, a combined interior trim (fabric and Alcantara, and in the top - Nappa leather) and the presence elements of copper color.

The SUV is able to take on board five or seven passengers (including the driver), and the maximum volume of its trunk is 2150 liters.

For the GT-version of "5008" one single diesel engine is offered - under the hood of the car "hides" a 2.0-liter in-line "four" with direct power supply of Common Rail, a turbocharger with variable geometry and a 16-valve timing, generating 180 "mares" at 3750 rpm and 400 Nm of available torque at 2000 rpm.
A six-range automatic transmission and front axle drive wheels are mated to the motor.

On the move, the Peugeot 5008 GT demonstrates good performance: before the first "hundred", the car breaks down in 9.1 seconds, peak gains 208 km / h and "drinks" no more than 4.8 liters of fuel in mixed mode.

At the heart of the "heated" modification of the SUV is the same front-wheel drive platform EMP2, which implies the presence of independent McPherson struts in front and a semi-independent torsion beam at the rear.
The steering system of the car includes a rack and pinion gear and an electric booster with progressive indicators, and its braking complex combines ventilated front and conventional rear discs with ABS, BAS, EBD and other "chips".

In the French market, the Peugeot 5008 GT in 2018 can be purchased at a price of 44,050 euros (~ 3.06 million rubles).

The standard "heated" SUV is equipped with: six airbags, LED headlights and lanterns, a multimedia center with an 8-inch screen, a virtual dashboard, ABS, ESP, dual-zone "climate", 19-inch wheels, adaptive "cruise", heating and electric drive front seats, head-up display, front and rear parking sensors and the "darkness" of other modern "bells and whistles".
